Privacy Policy

Who we are

Maken is a weight-cutting planning tool for combat-sports athletes. When this policy refers to “we,” “us,” or “Maken,” it means the operator of this service.

What data we collect

• Account data: email address and password (hashed).
• Profile data: name, age, sex, height, weight, sport, activity level, training schedule, competition dates, weight class, and injury history.
• Progress data: weigh-in logs, body measurements, and optionally progress photos.
• Usage data: pages visited, features used, and timestamps. We do not use third-party analytics trackers.

How we use your data

• Generate personalised weight-cut plans and training plans.
• Provide AI-powered coaching feedback on your progress.
• Send transactional emails (account verification, password reset).
• Improve the service based on aggregate usage patterns.

AI processing

Your profile and progress data are sent to an AI language model (currently Groq / Llama) to generate plans and coaching feedback. This data is processed in real time and is not used to train AI models. We do not store AI conversation logs beyond the generated plan output saved to your account.

Third-party processors

We use the following services to operate Maken. Each processes data only as necessary to provide the service:

• Vercel— hosting and deployment.
• Supabase— authentication, database, and file storage.
• Groq— AI model inference for plan generation and coaching feedback.
• Resend— transactional email delivery.
• Upstash— rate limiting via Redis.

Data storage and retention

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase. Progress photos are stored in Supabase Storage. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data.
• Exportyour data in a portable format (available in Settings → Account).
• Deleteyour account and all associated data (available in Settings → Account).
• Correct inaccurate data by updating your profile.

Cookies

Maken uses essential cookies only — specifically the Supabase authentication session cookie. We do not use advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies.

Children

Maken is intended for athletes aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Maken after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
